The Clouseau™ is a “Network Security Appliance” developed by SafeMedia.
Legal Protection – Clouseau™ is an in-line network appliance that provides legal compliance with the PRO-IP Law and the “Higher Education Bill”. Your decision to integrate Clouseau™ in your network could prevent civil and criminal prosecution, statutory damages, forfeiture of network equipment and victim’s restitution that may be imposed for the illegal downloading of copyrighted material on a P2P application across your network, by an employee, staff member or student.
Network Protection – Clouseau™ protects against security leaks of confidential and sensitive business information to the Internet and eliminates network slowdowns and congestion resulting from unauthorized use of bandwidth-hungry applications. Clouseau’s™ architecture was created specifically for network security regardless of network type or speed, resulting in a far more scalable and portable operational capacity.
Encrypted File-Sharing – Clouseau’s™ technology is a firewall-independent technology that reviews every packet of information passes through your network. Clouseau™ is the only Network Security System which monitors, detects, intercepts, captures, reports and drops all (over 650 P2P clients) file-sharing copyrighted content, encrypted or non-encrypted.
Privacy Concerns – Clouseau™ does not use Deep Packet Inspection and does not intrude on user privacy. Clouseau targets only file-sharing programs. Clouseau allows for the download of non-copyrighted file-sharing contents normally. File-sharing operations such as voice over IP, streaming, Lion share, open source Bit Torrents and academic Bit Torrents are allowed by Clouseau.
Current Network Security Is Not Enough – Most companies trust firewall technology, packet shapers and unified threat management devices to protect their network against Peer-To-Peer networks. Unfortunately, firewalls, packet shapers and other threat management systems lack the needed technology to block today’s encrypted Peer to Peer (P2P) networks.
Firewalls and Unified Threat Management Systems monitor and block or throttle traffic associated with P2P systems using a simple, fast approach known as port filtering or IP filtering. In response to the legal pressures by RIAA and MPAA, P2P developers responded by using ports associated with other services (web traffic, email traffic, etc.) to exchange data. The P2P traffic then blends in with other traffic. P2P connections are now distributed across all ports and millions of IPs. That makes firewalls, packet shapers and other threat management systems lack the needed technology to block today’s encrypted Peer to Peer (P2P) networks.
The Clouseau™ is the only plug-and-play solution that uses the patented “P2P Active Denial System™” to block this Peer to Peer traffic seamlessly… read more
